Urgent Statement by the Center for Truth and Knowledge Demanding Accountability for the Use of Chemical Weapons in the Sudanese Capital By: Alkrty  https://h-alkrty.blogspot.com/ 

 Statement Text: 

 The Center for Truth and Knowledge expresses its deep concern and strong condemnation of the shocking statements made by the President of the United Nations-affiliated Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), General Fernando Arias, in which he confirmed that the Sudanese army used chemical weapons in 13 neighborhoods of the Sudanese capital Khartoum. He stated that most of these neighborhoods contain high-rise buildings, and citizens must never return to them to protect their lives. The Center strongly condemns this criminal act, which constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which strictly prohibits the use of such weapons under any circumstances. The use of chemical weapons in densely populated civilian areas is not only a war crime but also a crime against humanity, and must not go unpunished. The Center also denounces the silence of the Sudanese military leadership and its failure to officially disclose the targeted areas, in complete disregard of its moral and professional responsibility toward the lives of civilians and the protection of public health and the environment. Accordingly, the Center for Truth and Knowledge calls for the following: An urgent international investigation under the supervision of the United Nations and the OPCW to document these crimes and collect field evidence. Accountability for all those involved in issuing orders or executing the use of chemical weapons, regardless of rank or position. The immediate and transparent disclosure of the names of the affected neighborhoods to allow the population access to accurate information. Urgent medical assistance to all those affected and the implementation of environmental and health quarantine in the contaminated areas until full decontamination is completed. Referral of the case to the International Criminal Court (ICC) if official involvement is confirmed, as these crimes fall within its jurisdiction. The Center for Truth and Knowledge affirms that the use of chemical weapons is a red line — both morally and humanely — and cannot be tolerated. We call on all international powers, human rights organizations, and legal institutions to unite in the pursuit of justice and the protection of the remaining innocent lives in Sudan.
