It has been the
responsibility of all leaders around the world to consider their duties and
obligations to protect civilian populations against atrocity crimes since July
2014, when the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Kimoon, called on them to do so. These
crimes are still occurring throughout the world, including war crimes, crimes
against humanity, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.
The purpose of this article is to outline how the international community needs to work together as a team to make this world safer for the current generation and upcoming generations. come. The international community must learn from past failures and uphold the commitment that the United Nations made, which is, "Never again."
The international community
must cooperate with the International Criminal Court in order to bring those
accused of serious crimes to justice, and the international community must pay
close attention to ending impunity in order to prevent civilians from being
victimized. At the very least,
This is a violation of
international human rights law and international humanitarian law.
Additionally, the sooner
impunity is ended, the better it is for our lives and for preventing the
civilian population from being subjected to a horrific crime.
In addition, atrocity crimes
take time and money to perpetuate. Therefore, states have a great chance of
identifying the warning signs of crime because they can take action before an
atrocity occurs.
The article calls on the
international community, which includes state leaders, United Nations agency no
agency, non-government organizations, regions, and international organizations
to work together closely to prevent atrocity crimes.
To conclude, Atrocity crimes
are the most serious crimes of concern in the international community, so the
whole world has to work together to resolve this issue. As states are legally
obligated to protect populations suffering gross violations of human rights and
international humanitarian law, states must strengthen their capacity to
protect human rights around the world.
